Product Care
Von Schneider uses the finest furniture building materials.

Wood, Stone, Metal, and Leather are robust and have a natural beauty that is unmistakable.

Like any fine product… such as a mechanical timepiece or high-end vehicle, maintenance is required for
upkeep.

We have made this reference guide for keeping your Von Schneider furniture piece in the best condition possible.

Leather
Von Schneider leather upholstered furniture is made with cowhide and bison leather, both known for
their exceptional durability and beauty. To maintain the natural beauty of your leather furniture, please follow these care guidelines:

Regular Cleaning:
Dust your leather furniture regularly using a soft, dry cloth or a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment. Wipe away spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth.

Conditioning and Moisturizing:
Apply a high-quality leather conditioner (We recommend Lexol®) to your leather periodically, following the manufacturer's instructions. This helps restore moisture and maintain the leather's suppleness. Avoid using excessive amounts of conditioner, as it may build up and cause a greasy or sticky surface.

Protection from Sunlight and Heat:
Avoid placing your leather furniture in direct sunlight or near heat sources such as radiators, vents, or
fireplaces, as prolonged exposure can cause color fading, drying, or surface cracking.

Sunlight Protection:
Exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading or discoloration to the stone. Consider using window coverings or blinds to shield the furniture from excessive sunlight.

Metal
Von Schneider metal furniture is constructed with mild steel, coated with a black oxide, and then
lacquered for a durable finish. To preserve the beauty and longevity of these metal pieces, follow these care instructions:

Gentle Cleaning:
Wipe the metal surfaces regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove debris and dust. For more stubborn stains or smudges, dampen the cloth with mild soapy water and gently wipe the affected areas. Dry the surface thoroughly afterward to prevent surface spots.

Avoid Harsh Chemicals:
Never use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals on the metal surfaces, they will cause damage to the finish. In case of spills, immediately clean the area with a soft, damp cloth to prevent potential staining.

Protection from Scratches:
Use felt pads or rubber bumpers on the bottom of metal bases to prevent scratches when moving them around.

Wood
Von Schneider uses hardwood, never veneers, and is available in either polyurethane coated or wax finished options. To maintain the natural elegance and longevity of your wood furniture, please follow these care guidelines:

Regular Dusting:
Dust your wood furniture frequently using a soft, dry cloth or a feather duster to prevent the buildup of dust and debris. Make sure the cloth or duster is clean and free from any rough particles that could scratch the surface.

Cleaning and Polishing:
For wood with a polyurethane coating, lightly dampen a soft cloth with water and wipe the wood surface. Dry immediately with a separate cloth to prevent water damage. Mix a mild soap with water and follow the same steps if necessary for cleaning off substances. Never use ammonia or alcohol bases cleaners as these will eat through the finish. For wood with a wax finish, do not use any household cleaner or spray product. Only a dry or water damp cloth should be used for cleaning.

Protection from Moisture and Heat:
Avoid placing hot or wet objects directly on the wood surface, as it can cause discoloration or damage. Use coasters, trivets, or protective mats to prevent water rings, stains, or heat marks on the wood surface.

Sunlight Protection:
Exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading or discoloration to the leather. Consider using window coverings or blinds to shield the furniture from excessive sunlight.

Stone
Von Schneider uses granite or quartz stone elements. These natural stones add a touch of elegance and sophistication to your living space. To ensure the long-lasting beauty of your furniture, please follow these care instructions:

Regular Cleaning:
For routine maintenance, wipe the stone surface with a soft, water damp cloth to remove dust and debris.Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner to clean the surface thoroughly. Do not use acidic or abrasive cleaners,as they can damage the stone.

Liquid Spills on Stone:
Immediately clean up any spills to prevent them from seeping into the stone and causing staining or etching. Stone is porous and will take on liquids. Place coasters or mats under glasses, cups, and bottles to prevent potential staining from liquids.

Heat and Moisture Protection:
Granite and quartz are heat-resistant, but it is advisable to use trivets or hot pads under hot cook ware or dishes to avoid discoloration and damage.

Avoid Scratches and Impact:
While stone is durable, it can still be susceptible to scratches from sharp objects.
Dragging objects across the stone surface can cause scratches or chips. Lift and place heavy items with care.

Sunlight Protection:
Exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading or discoloration to the stone. Consider using windowcoverings or blinds to shield the furniture from excessive sunlight.
